IMPORTANT NOTE: Focal released model 20-08-87 tripod with TWO SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT HEADS that use a DIFFERENT QUICK RELEASE PLATES
See the last photo! This plate ONLY FITS the Generation 2 Head
This is easily identified by the almost square receptacle, and the flat metal locking mechanism. The lever is separate from the mechanism.
If you have a black one-piece Mechanism/Lever with the words "LOCK < > UNLOCK" on it, and the receptacle is clearly rectangular, you have a Generation 1 head and this plate WILL NOT FIT.

Plate Top is 48mm x 80mm and features a cork non-slip surface

A quick release plate will attach to the camera's tripod mount and allows you to quickly and easily attach or remove the camera from a compatible tripod without having to waste time fumbling with the threaded mount.
Having the same number of quick release plates as the number of cameras and/or large telephoto lenses in use allows you to leave one on each, enabling the rapid change of equipment with minimal fuss, essential for the professional or advanced amateur photographer. Always good to have a spare.
