This Rivarossi HO scale model represents a General Electric U25C diesel-electric locomotive in the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway's distinctive red and silver "Zebra Stripe" paint scheme with large red "Santa Fe" lettering. This model operates on standard 2-rail DC track systems compatible with most HO scale layouts. The U25C was GE's first successful road freight locomotive, with 113 units built between 1963 and 1965, marking General Electric's serious entry into competition with EMD's dominance of the diesel locomotive market.
This Mantua/Tyco HO scale model represents an EMD GP20 diesel-electric locomotive in the Chicago, Burlington & Quincy Railroad's distinctive red and silver paint scheme with white "Burlington" lettering. The GP20 was one of EMD's turbocharged "second generation" road switchers, with 260 units built between 1959 and 1962.
