A Panoramic Tripod Head is for the purpose of allowing you to easily capture multiple photographs that can be easily stitched together for a super "wide andgle" or "Panoramic" photograph. Kaidan popularized panoramic VR/QTVR panoramic photography with the KiWi tripod head many years ago,
This particular device was made for Nikon Coolpix 900, 900S, and 950 cameras, but the attachment is a standard 1/4-20 thread. It looks to be easily modifiable with different camera brackets, etc. We don't see any reason you can't use this for other cameras/lenses including much better quality ones. Of course your results will vary depending on your equipment, skills, etc.
Panoramic heads can be fairly expensive, but now you can get this affordable, rugged, lightweight and elegant design that includes an innovative detent click stop mechanism with built-in bubble level and an adjustable camera bracket.
