PS3 Game: NBA 2K13 2K Sports - Basketball

Experience the thrill and glamour of NBA basketball with the officially licensed NBA 2K13 for the PlayStation 3 (PS3).

There are three main modes in NBA 2K13 for the PS3.

The MyPlayer mode, unlike in previous games, is where basketball players are customized. Apparel choices extend beyond those worn on the court to include suits and luxury clothing for conferences, as well as casual hats, shorts and T-shirts, many based on real-life items. The pre-game rituals of each character can also be customized.

In MyCareer gameplay mode, players are put through their paces in the single-player game. As a unique measure of the player’s progression, a virtual in-game Twitter account displays the positive and negative reactions of fans after games, as well as name drops by celebrities. There is also a new coach feedback system to provide specific advice for improvements.

In Association mode, a first for the NBA video game franchise, players can hop into a current season with all of the accurate stats, ratings, injuries and player abilities of the year. An in-game currency system, in each of the game modes, allows players to earn cash, to spend on apparel and skills as the game progresses.

An immersive and lifelike basketball simulation, NBA 2K13 for the PS3 maps all dribble maneuvers to the right analog stick, a feature never before seen in the franchise that allows for unprecedented control over players in the game. From shooting and passing to post moves, players can string together various moves to optimize performance on the court. The passing system has also been enhanced for greater control, allowing for bounce passes to cutting teammates, and other specialist tactics. Another feature introduced in NBA 2K13 is the Dynamic Shot Generator, which revolutionizes the in-game physics for lifelike precision and collision physics, generated in real time. Each player in NBA 2K13 for the PS3 has his own signature skill ratings and abilities, any of which could be the decisive factor in winning or losing games. In addition to teams and players, contemporary to the game’s 2012 release, NBA 2K13 benefits from the inclusion of basketball teams and icons from 1992 to play with as well. Another popular feature of NBA 2K13 is the shoe customization, which comprises a choice of generic and branded shoe models for players to edit. Among the best-selling games in the franchise since its 2012 release date, NBA 2K13 for the PlayStation 3, received consistently high ratings from critics. It makes for an excellent addition to any basketball gaming fan’s sports collection.

The game is developed by Visual Concepts, published by 2K Sports, and distributed by Take-Two Interactive (of Grand Theft Auto fame). NBA 2K13 is a notable addition to the critically-acclaimed series of video games for a number of reasons, not least for being the first to feature more than one real-life athlete on the game cover – in this case, Kevin Durant of the Oklahoma City Thunder, Blake Griffin of the Los Angeles Clippers, and Derrick Rose or the Chicago Bulls. NBA 2K13 also benefited from the creative influence of Executive Producer Jay Z , who oversaw, among other features of the game, its eclectic, 24-song soundtrack.
