The 3D fighting game that started it, Sega's Virtua Fighter returns to home consoles with more action in this release. Learn the art of combat move-by-move as you train and battle your way to the top. Rewards await when you master every move, but 2 new fighters and a few secret techniques will challenge you along the way. Virtual Fighter 4 features the same cast of characters and assortment of battle locations available to arcade gamers, including detailed fighters, vivid visual effects, and deformable arenas. Virtua Fighter 4 also delivers an extremely deep fighting system, highly tuned AI, and two new characters hungry for their place at the top. If you are new to the Virtua Fighter series, the in-depth training system will teach you the art of combat, move by move. Rewards await those who master every move, and you can expect to unlock a few secret techniques along the way.
Two new characters (Lei Fei and Vanessa Lewis) join 11 veterans of the series for a selection of 13 fighters, each with a different style based on actual martial arts techniques. New counters and defensive moves let characters adjust their stances in the middle of a bout. Other new features include available accessories to customize a favorite character and the opportunity to prove one's skill in ranking tournaments. You can also train a computer-controlled character through sparring and an easy-to-use rewards system, then pit your character against a friend's, or challenge the arcade mode. A new accessory system allows you to customize your character's clothing, sunglasses, hairstyles, and more. High-polygon character models, exquisite detail, and brilliant light sourcing combine to create breathtaking visuals.
