Original Quick Release Plate for vintage SIMA tripod

Vintage SIMA Tripod original quick release plate

Necessary part used to quickly attach & release a camera to & from the tripod.

The vintage Sima tripod that uses this plate is probably around 30 years old, give or take. And like many vintage items, it was well made and worth keeping in service.
Although it did not have a model name or number that we know of, you can identify it as follows. The receptacle where the camera plate goes is unique and easily recognizable. Look for the two "hooks" on opposite edges of the inner well of the receptacle (see the last photo). Refer to measurements and measure your to be certain. If yours matches these criteria, you can order with confidence.

Note: This is for the tripod with the head shown in the 2nd photo only.
Other Sima Tripods use different quick release plates.

Poly molded construction, with 1/4"-20 thumb screw and alignment pin.

Lost yours? We'll bring that quality vintage Sima Tripod back to life.

A quick release plate will attach to the camera's tripod mount and allows you to quickly and easily attach or remove the camera from a compatible tripod without having to waste time fumbling with the threaded mount.

Having the same number of quick release plates as the number of cameras and/or large telephoto lenses in use allows you to leave one on each, enabling the rapid change of equipment with minimal fuss, essential for the professional or advanced amateur photographer. Always good to have a spare.
